Behavioural Training

The next opportunity to join us is 10th November 2024 which will be our last intake of 2024 so don't miss it!

Classes are centred around the Royal Kennel Club Good Citizen Training Scheme. Our relationship-centred instruction focuses on the emotional bond between dog and owner. With emphasis on control, (settling, walking nicely on lead, recalling to owner and not jumping up), we promote positive social etiquette, engagement through play and mental stimulation plus life skills to set your dog up for success.

How is Behavioural Training Structured?

With availability on a monthly basis, training commences with an Induction of approximately 3 hours followed by a series of 8 hourly Classes to be redeemed within 12 weeks of term time.

After Induction, you will be provided with access to videos, documents and articles to help with practicing exercises before your first Class and for ongoing reference.

On expiry, Follow-On Blocks are purchased on a sliding scale so the more you train, the cheaper it becomes!

What is the Purpose of Induction?

This session which also acts as an assessment, helps set you up for success by providing an understanding of a variety of topics, including:
• the psychology of how dogs learn
• correct socialisation
• emotional bonding
• body language
• household etiquette
• experimental behaviours such as mouthing, stealing and chasing

For your canine companion to accompany you anywhere, anytime, core exercises are also introduced, such as:
• settling
• attention to name
• recall
• loose lead walking
